Gov. Monday Okpebholo Receives Commendations For Completing Inherited Road Projects,

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has continued to receive commendations by residents of the state for completing inherited road projects of the past administration of Godwin Obaseki across various communities .

In Ogbe Community , at Ogbewaise road which according to reports had suffered neglect over the years was recently completed by the state government with asphalt and beautiful markings, making the link roads accessible and easy to ply by motorists and pedestrians.

Scooping for news, the Crusaders Voice gathered that earth work and drainage drilling is currently on-going in all the road projects initiated by Governor Monday Okpebholo with a marching order to the contractors to complete the projects as specified within the period of 12 months .

Speaking with some of the engineers at the scene of the road project, it was confirmed that they have been mobilized and are committed to ensuring the road projects meet with specifications and completed within the agreed time.

A further visit to Catholic Charismatic renewal road revealed that Governor Monday Okpebholo has also kept his promise to the people of the area who paid him a visit early this year soliciting for his urgent attention to ameliorate their plights lamenting on how house owners in the area have deserted their houses due to flooding.

The 1.4km road at Catholic Charismatic renewal , off, Ugbiyoko in ekenwan axis is receiving maximum attention from contractors in charge of the project . The casting of the double drainage with rigid and flexible pavement , including a retention pond that would be receiving the flood from the area were seen on the site. Also the retention pond at the military cantonment in ekenwan barracks is also near completion as the pavement were being laid successfully.

This project , when completed would enable those who have deserted the area to relocate back to their houses while the issue of flooding will become a thing of the past.

Moving further, the crusaders voice paid a visit to Ramat where the first ever flyover bridge in Benin City is being constructed, Engr l. Nosahkere Igbinibor on behalf of the contracting firm , China Civil Engineering company explained that the dual carriage bridge of 480km is 20% ready and will be completed in another 15months as all the necessary tools and workers are on ground to ensure smooth construction.

“Erecting a bridge have to do with the sub structure and super structure, the major work we have done is basically the substructure which is not visible for the eyes . we will deliver according to our agreement, even during the rainy season, we are going to be working “. He said.

It was further observed at  Palace road, off Upper Mission Extension that major fillings and drainage construction are in progress . Speaking on behalf of Mutual Construction Company (MCC), Engr. Tomiwa Atoyebi said they have been able complete the earth work and drainage construction of about 1.6km stretch.

According to him, the 4.7km road construction which commenced in February, 2025 is billed for 12months with double drainage and single carriage way.

He also added that they would be working every day to ensure they meet up with the agreed time.

Meanwhile, the Temboga road construction is also in progress as the filling stage has reached about 40% with all the buildings that were formerly seen on a very high landscape now at the same level with the road making the road accessible to house owners who reside in the area.
