Uromi Community loses Oldest Woman at 104 Years

ARUE- UROMI – The death has been announced of the oldest woman in Arue Community in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, Mrs Lucy Okougha Okosun.

She was aged 104 years.

Until her death, the late Mrs Lucy Okougha Okosun was not only the oldest woman in the whole of Arue Community, she was also a a very successful business icon, who deals on herbs as a local Midwife.

A Consummate Mother, Devout Christian and a prominent Community Leader in Arue-Uromi, the late Mrs Lucy Okosun was also well known for her dexterity in handling community matters.

A Statement by the eldest surviving Son, Mr Benjamin Okosun, indicated that the Centengenarian Matriarch of the Okosun family died on May 29th, 2023.

According to funeral arrangements endorsed by Benjamin Okosun, on behalf of the Patriarch of the Family, the late Pa Ehiamienkponor Peter Okosun, there will be a social wake in honour of the deceased on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Arue- Uromi.

The statement, however, added that the remains of the late Mrs Lucy Okosun will be interned on Friday, December 15, 2023 to be followed same day, by Ujie (Procession).

General entertainment of Guests will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at same venue .

The late Mrs Lucy Okougha Okosun is survived by Children, Grand Children and Great Grand Children.
