UROMI — All roads lead to Uromi, Esan North East LGA of Edo State, from Thursday, February 22 to Sunday, February 25 , 2024 , as notable dignitaries from all walks of life in Nigeria and beyond are expected to grace the Funeral Ceremony of the Matriarch of the Uwaibi Family of Uromi, in Edo State.

Recall that the death of the late Mrs Comfort Omiokojie Uwaibi, Matriarch of the Uwaibi Family of Okpekimiokolo in Ebhoiyi-Uromi, Esan North East LGA of Edo State was formally announced late last year.

She was aged 86 years.

Until her death, the late Madam Comfort Omiokojie Uwaibi was a Princess from the Uromi Royal Dynasty, a devout Christian, an accomplished Community leader , a lover of culture & tradition, a mother to All and a successful Businesswoman.

According to a statement signed by Patricia Afe Selo-Ojeme on behalf of the Daughters, for the entire Uwaibi family, the funeral rites of the Octogenarian will kick off on Thursday, February 22, 2024 with a Service of Songs in her honour at her residence, No. 3, Emmanuel Ikhide Uwaibi Street, Off Atani Road, Uromi.

The Statement adds that this will be closely followed by a round of entertainment and musical fiesta to be provided by Influence Akabaman from Benin City.

The family added that the remains of the late Mrs Comfort Uwaibi will be interred on Friday, February 23, 2024 at her residence immediately after the lying in State (10am), Ujie Procession from Okpekimiokolo (11am) both at her residence and a Requiem Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, New Agbor Road, Ebhoiyi , Uromi (3pm ).

The Grand reception in honour of late Mrs Comfort Uwaibi, the statement further adds, will hold on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Okpujie Primary School Compound, Opposite St. Anthony Catholic Church, Uromi beginning from 12 noon.

The family emphasized that Guests will be entertained at the reception Ground by the iconic Yinka Ayefele Dance Band, from Ibadan, while the traditional Esan acrobatic dance, popularly called “The Igbabonelimhin” , will be on ground to thrill the audience.

The Burial ceremony will be climaxed with a Thanksgiving Service at 8am at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Uromi.

The late Madam Comfort Omiokojie Uwaibi ( nee Omiojieahiour Okojie) is survived by 5 Daughters, Grand Children, Great Grand Children, Brothers & Sisters.

She will be greatly remembered for her humility , hard work and tenacity in raising her Children all of whom are doing successfully well in their various chosen careers and human endeavors.
