The National Coordinator of Rural Women Mobilization, Comrade Anita Erhenhi- okunkpolor has met with women of Adesagbon Community in Uhumwonde Local Government Area of Edo State to introduce a grassroots empowerment initiative aimed at improving their livelihoods.

Addressing the gathering, Erhenhi-Okunkpolor explained the rationale behind the programme, describing it as a personal initiative driven by her passion for community journalism and advocacy for rural development.

She noted that the project was conceived after observing the daily struggles of rural women, who, despite their hard work, often lack access to financial support and basic opportunities.

According to her, the empowerment programme is entirely non-political and solely focused on uplifting women at the grassroots level.

She further outlined the various forms of support the initiative will offer, including grants, medical check-ups and treatment, mentorship, and other forms of assistance designed to improve the well-being of beneficiaries.

Erhenhi-Okunkpolor encouraged the women to remain hopeful and committed, assuring them that efforts are underway to bring meaningful support that will enhance their standard of living.

Present at the meeting was Mercy Akuba, a Stakeholder in the Rural Women Mobilization team and others.
