The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Edo State, Nigeria, and across the world on the celebration of Eid al-Adha, urging them to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, unity, peace, and compassion which define the sacred event.
In a goodwill message issued through his Media aide, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele described Eid al-Adha as a significant period that reminds humanity of the importance of faith, selflessness, tolerance, and commitment to the collective good of society.
According to him, the celebration commemorates the unwavering obedience and sacrifice of Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim), a figure revered in Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, whose exemplary devotion continues to inspire people across the world.
“As the Muslim faithful celebrate, it is important for us all to reflect on the lessons of sacrifice, love, and unity that the season represents. The story of Abraham (Ibrahim) teaches us the need to place the interest of humanity above personal desires and to remain committed to peace and progress,” he stated.
Enabulele further called on Nigerians to use the occasion to strengthen the bonds of national unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual understanding irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
He emphasized the need for citizens to continue making positive contributions toward the development of their communities, the state, and the nation at large.
The Edo Sports Commission boss also prayed for continued peace, prosperity, good health, and divine blessings for the Muslim faithful and all Nigerians as they celebrate the festival.
He wished the Muslim Ummah a joyous and fulfilling Eid al-Adha celebration.
